RAPIDLAB MARINETERREIN : CLOSE CONNECTIONS
Parallel to the lecture and excursion programme, the students form interdisciplinary groups for a short and intensive studio. Based on desk research, field work and equipped with creative research and presentation methods, the students put forward a well-argued proposal for a site in Amsterdam.
This year's brief is to reach beyond the natural and architectural borders of the Marineterrein, a former military site that is slowly opening up to the public and is seeking ways to involve the surrounding neighborhood. Students are asked to make proposals that might activate and facilitate a representative group of stakeholders to get involved in the terrain's development and programming.
The RapidLab is designed in close collaboration with the Marineterrein project bureau. It culminates in public group presentations on site, proposing physical, social/programmatic or policy interventions that may be implemented tomorrow.
